Isak close to Newcastle injury return
Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak is now ‘very close’ to making a return from a lengthy injury layoff, reliable journalist Keith Downie has confirmed.

The Swede was an exciting summer addition by the Magpies, coming in as the big-money marquee signing who could help take Eddie Howe’s side up a gear.
Isak made a promising start to life at St James’ Park, scoring twice in his first three appearances, but he hasn’t played since because of a hamstring injury suffered in September.
Thankfully, Newcastle have continued to excel without him but there is still no denying that his return is needed as a busy season ramps up after the World Cup break.

Taking to Twitter, Downie said that Isak is now close to being back in the fold and should be available in the coming weeks:
